A pre-wedding shoot, often referred to as an engagement shoot, is a photo shoot that usually takes place three to six months before your wedding day. At Zapimage we include one with every booking, I love them. It’s great way of getting to know to each other, helping my couples get comfortable and relaxed in front of a camera. Most of us have never had a professional photo shoot, including myself. It can be daunting.

I approach them as a lifestyle shoot. The last thing I want to do is force my couples to do anything they feel uncomfortable doing. I want to capture you as natural as possible in a fun way, no cheesy awkward “smile for the camera” shots. I like to think that the best shots aren’t looking at or posing for the camera, just natural fun candid moments caught on camera.

An engagement shoot can actually help you in a few different ways. First, it helps you build a good rapport with your photographer. You will feel more comfortable with your photographer if you know them a little and also get to know his or her shooting style. For your photographer, it’s also the time for them to get to know more about you as a couple; your characters, how affectionate you are with each other, how formal or casual your styles are so I can adapt my style to suit you.

So what happens on a pre-wedding shoot?. We usually spend around one hour together, chatting about your day and having fun creating great moments with some guidance if needed. We are based in Macclesfield and are within easy reach of so many great locations. Some of my favourites are Dunham Massey, Teggs Nose, Lyme Park, Manchester’s Castlefield and Northern Quarter, Goyt Valley and Formby.

You can bring your Dog’s and Children if you want. If you want more information please get in touch.
